Scope

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Operations EMEA to lead and oversee all operational functions within our clients' Medical Devices company across EMEA.

This pivotal role requires strategic leadership, strong operational acumen, and exceptional managerial skills to drive efficiency, ensure quality, and deliver outstanding customer service.

The successful candidate will be based in the Netherlands office playing a critical role in shaping and executing operational strategy to support growth and expansion objectives within the business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive operational strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, enhance productivity, and streamline operations across EMEA.
  • Provide effective leadership and management to a diverse team spanning customer service, engineering, facilities, IT, procurement, and manufacturing.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, ensuring clear communication, goal alignment, and professional development opportunities.
  • Champion a customer-centric approach to operations, ensuring prompt and efficient resolution of customer inquiries, concerns, and service issues. Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure customer satisfaction and drive service improvements.
  • Oversee engineering and manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product innovation, process optimization, and cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
  • Manage facilities and infrastructure to support operational needs effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and execute plans for facility expansion or improvement as needed to accommodate business growth.
  • Partner with IT leadership to optimize systems and technologies supporting operational functions.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency, data analytics capabilities, and decision-making processes.
  • Lead procurement activities to secure high-quality materials, components, and services at competitive prices.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to establish strategic partnerships and ensure continuity of supply. Optimize supply chain processes to minimize lead times and inventory costs.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets effectively, ensuring cost control and resource optimization.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements while maintaining service quality and operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Implement robust risk management processes to mitigate operational risks and safeguard business continuity.


About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role within the medical devices or healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of operational functions including customer service, engineering, manufacturing, facilities management, IT, procurement, and supply chain.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving operational excellence, process improvements, and cost savings initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and drive execution.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality service and achieving business objectives.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages such as Dutch, German, or French would be advantageous.
