My First Month Back

Started off with a bang here! The Directors decided to take us all away on an extra vacation this year (annual company holiday is February…) to say thank you for everyone’s hard work and dedication to our brand and values!

The entire team met up at the airport with no idea where we were going on this all-inclusive mystery trip, needless to say when we discovered it was this beautiful Spanish city, it was met with excitement. With 3 days of fine restaurants, roof-top terrace drinking and exploring the sites, the team returned feeling pampered and ready to take on the last quarter of what is proving to be a highly successful year for the business.

At the end of every quarter, we get together for a big company presentation of key achievements; celebrating all individual and corporate successes and recognising everyone’s hard work! It's also a great opportunity to showcase all the photos and videos taken of the team from events over the previous 3 months which is always enjoyed by the team! This quarter's prize winner was Alex Hepworth who won a trip to San Fransisco with a guest of his choice! After the celebrations, we take the day as a fun day and spend time together away from the office. Activities such as skiing, karaoke, flight club and aqua parks have been amongst the favourites!

I joined just in time for the worlds biggest coffee morning. Every year we hold a bake-off style coffee and cake morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The team pull out all the stops and put their baking skills to the test in an attempt to win the title of 'Star Baker'. A couple of weeks later, our Audiology team attended a charity gala dinner, held by one of our valued clients, Widex. We were extremely proud to sponsor this event and it proved to be a successful evening raising a tremendous amount of money for the Alzheimer's Society and Claire House Children's Hospice. I was also delighted with our donation to a local sports team to help them renovate their club in order to keep it running for youths in the local community. This means a lot to me personally as I coach kids and know what impact it can have, not only for the club as a whole but also for each individual child with the opportunities the club provides for them. Consult take CSR seriously, it's important to us that we support others where we can...we have much more planned for the next quarter too!

This is a big one!! Plans have begun towards organising Consult's trip to MARBELLA in February in 2023! We're on track for a record-breaking year and if we achieve our goal, we'll all be back on a plane in a few months time, heading for that Spanish sunshine again.

Just last week, our newer team members completed their three week training programme with one of our valued external partners. Investment into continuous coaching and the development of our employees is of high importance to the Consult business - we pride ourselves on enabling both the personal and professional ambitions of our team!

I've also been present to congratulate two of my fellow team members in their well-deserved promotions. Alex Hepworth, now our Dental Business Manager and Elliott Firth, our Senior Key Account Manager in Medical Devices have been promoted due to their consistent commitment and dedication to their role and for delivering time and time again to our valued clients and candidates.

And finally, despite only being a few weeks in, I have already got lots of interviews booked in for additional team members for Leeds and Sheffield and we have some excellent new additions due to start soon!
